Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are apparently needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of most borders.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling den, features 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the common table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel compound that highlights numerous amenities in addition to the gambling den, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
